Draft Grade — Raiders

FutureB-
A franchise passer in Mendoza headlines a B- weekend for the Raiders. The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Fernando Mendoza, and the whole operation now runs on his development. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Reaching for Barton left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Fernando Mendoza
In pick 1 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36
Rnd2
Chris Bell
Chris Bell at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67
Rnd3
Connor Lew
No drama and no debate, Connor Lew went about where he belonged in pick No. 67. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick102
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
By-the-book stuff, Kaytron Allen at the 102nd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick117
Rnd4
Bishop Fitzgerald
The board had Bishop Fitzgerald higher than No. 117, and the safety fell to them anyway. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick134
Rnd4
Lander Barton
Value said wait; Lander Barton in slot 134 says they were not listening. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick174
Rnd5
Sam Roush
They let Sam Roush come to them and pounced at Round 5, Pick 36. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick180
Rnd6
Matt Gulbin
Matt Gulbin in the 180th pick is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick183
Rnd6
Zxavian Harris
Zxavian Harris at the 183rd pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick219
Rnd7
Jimmy Rolder
Jimmy Rolder in No. 219 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
