Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall
B

NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Raiders: B. Everything else got attention, and cornerback got none. That is a strange way for the Raiders to leave a draft. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Jeremiah Smith
In the 1st pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36
Rnd2
Chris Cole
Chris Cole at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick67
Rnd3
A.J. Holmes Jr.
No edge and no loss on A.J. Holmes Jr. in slot 67; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick102
Rnd4
Zavier Mincey
Zavier Mincey in pick 102 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick117
Rnd4
Justice Haynes
Justice Haynes in pick No. 117 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick134
Rnd4
Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
They paid sticker price for Kenyatta Jackson Jr. in the 134th overall pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick174
Rnd5
Josh Hoover
Josh Hoover in No. 174 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick180
Rnd6
Jackson Arnold
Jackson Arnold at Round 6, Pick 1 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick183
Rnd6
Raylen Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Raylen Wilson at slot 183 squarely in line with his ranking. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick219
Rnd7
Rico Flores Jr.
No drama and no debate, Rico Flores Jr. went about where he belonged in the 219th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
