Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureB-
Cooper Jr. should have been long gone. The Seahawks pounced, and earned a B-. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Omar Cooper Jr., the No. 55 name on the board, stolen at slot 96. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Every board in the league had Halton lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick35
Rnd2
Chris Johnson
Chris Johnson in Round 2, Pick 3 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick64
Rnd2
Jadarian Price
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jadarian Price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick96
Rnd3
Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. at slot 96 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick101
Rnd4
Gracen Halton
Gracen Halton at the Round 4 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick211
Rnd6
Jadon Canady
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jadon Canady in No. 211. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
