Cloud9blazers DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Seahawks. Priorities are a choice, and the Seahawks made a strange one, taking Jalon Kilgore at cornerback in pick 96 with edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots crying out for the pick instead. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Ponds to cover a lot of smaller sins. If Kilgore pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Anthony Hill Jr.
In pick No. 32 they get a green-dot type in the middle at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick64
Rnd2
D'Angelo Ponds
A tidy bit of business in slot 64, where D'Angelo Ponds graded well above the range. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick96
Rnd3
Jalon Kilgore
Of all the spots to shop, they chose cornerback. Jalon Kilgore in the 96th overall pick leaves edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots for later.
Pick211
Rnd6
Raylen Wilson
They paid a round early for Raylen Wilson in pick No. 211, more than the board wanted. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
