Reese should have been long gone. The Chargers pounced, and earned a B+. If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Chargers, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They are betting Oke proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
The Reese pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Adding Connor McGovern by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece, outstanding value to boot.
Pick55
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
They did well to land Jake Slaughter in slot 55, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick86
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
The board had Zakee Wheatley higher than No. 86, and the safety fell to them anyway. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick123
Rnd4
David Oke
They went early on David Oke in pick 123, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
