The Steelers finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B.

Start where it matters. The Steelers took Ty Simpson to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

With interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on offensive lineman is the choice that costs them. Barham has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Ty Simpson
A clean, defensible pick in No. 21 with a little surplus value in Ty Simpson. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick53 Rnd2 Zachariah Branch
No drama and no debate, Zachariah Branch went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. It fills a real need, too.
Pick76 Rnd3 Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis at the 76th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick85 Rnd3 Drew Shelton
They bypassed pressing needs at interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots to take Drew Shelton, an offensive lineman that was not the priority.
Pick99 Rnd3 Jaishawn Barham
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jaishawn Barham. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
