Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Browns, and a B to prove it.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Browns did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most. The bottom line is a respectable B.

That Slaughter pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Jordyn Tyson
Jordyn Tyson in the 6th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick24 Rnd1 Monroe Freeling
In pick 24 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Chris Johnson
They did well to land Chris Johnson in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick70 Rnd3 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter is a better player than pick No. 70 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
