Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Adon Shuler got past him. The Commanders do not have to explain a thing at Round 5, Pick 7. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.

The veteran additions, Kayvon Thibodeaux chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. If Clarke pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
