Best value of the weekend goes to the Rams for Reed-Adams: A-. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Rams came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
On value alone, Reed-Adams makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In slot 22 they get a press-man option on the boundary, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Pick31
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In the 31st overall pick they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Caleb Lomu
They paid sticker price for Caleb Lomu in pick 37, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick63
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman is a better player than Round 2, Pick 31 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick86
Rnd3
Eric Singleton Jr.
The board had Eric Singleton Jr. higher than the 86th pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick95
Rnd3
Sam Leavitt
Sam Leavitt in No. 95 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
Pick171
Rnd5
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Circle this one: Ar'maj Reed-Adams at the Round 5 slot is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
