Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedA-

FutureB-
The Giants checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Giants walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Every board in the league had Lance lower, and that gap is the story. On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In the 5th overall pick they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37
Rnd2
Dontay Corleone
Dontay Corleone at pick 37 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick105
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance at the Round 4 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick143
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
Beau Stephens in pick No. 143 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick184
Rnd6
Gracen Halton
Gracen Halton in No. 184 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick190
Rnd6
Bud Clark
Fair-plus on Bud Clark, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick191
Rnd6
Josh Moten
A clean, defensible pick in Round 6, Pick 12 with a little surplus value in Josh Moten. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
