The Giants checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Giants walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Every board in the league had Lance lower, and that gap is the story. On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

In the 5th overall pick they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.

Dontay Corleone at pick 37 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
