The Lions cashed the board's mistake on Allar: B+.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Drew Allar, the No. 143 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 212.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Harris has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Will Anderson Jr. deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
In Round 1, Pick 17 they get a building block for the line at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter at slot 50 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick118 Rnd4 Lee Hunter
Circle this one: Lee Hunter at No. 118 is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick155 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
A tidy little value on Tanner Koziol in pick No. 155, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick203 Rnd6 Zxavian Harris
They paid a round early for Zxavian Harris in pick 203, more than the board wanted. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick212 Rnd6 Drew Allar
Drew Allar in the 212th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick222 Rnd7 Thaddeus Dixon
Thaddeus Dixon in the Round 7 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
