If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bengals would have aced it. Patrick Payton at slot 194 is 57 spots clear of where he belonged.

Moore at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Jonathan Allen gives the group a proven body among the projects. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
