Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Chiefs cashed the board's mistake on Bell: B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Chiefs should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

Bell at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They are betting Whittington proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Spencer Fano
In slot 12 they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46 Rnd2 Akheem Mesidor
Akheem Mesidor at Round 2, Pick 14 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick74 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
Circle this one: A.J. Haulcy at the 74th pick is a fall that decides a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick109 Rnd4 Caden Curry
They paid up for Caden Curry at pick 109 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick112 Rnd4 Skyler Bell
Skyler Bell in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick146 Rnd5 Beau Stephens
By-the-book stuff, Beau Stephens at the 146th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick153 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
No drama and no debate, Tanner Koziol went about where he belonged in the 153rd overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick176 Rnd5 Kaleb Proctor
A clean, defensible pick in the 176th pick with a little surplus value in Kaleb Proctor. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick215 Rnd6 Noah Whittington
The board had cheaper options than Noah Whittington at pick 215, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick221 Rnd7 Zavion Thomas
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zavion Thomas. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
