Draft Grade — Chiefs

A respectable, level-headed haul for the Chiefs: B-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Chiefs spent pick No. 40 on Jonah Coleman, a name the board had a full 29 spots lower. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Getting Dunker where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Tight end is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 David Bailey
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40 Rnd2 Jonah Coleman
Value said wait; Jonah Coleman in pick 40 says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick74 Rnd3 Gennings Dunker
Circle this one: Gennings Dunker at pick No. 74 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick109 Rnd4 Caden Curry
Caden Curry at No. 109 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick146 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
They paid sticker price for Tanner Koziol in the Round 5 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick176 Rnd5 Gracen Halton
They paid up for Gracen Halton at slot 176 when waiting would have done the job. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
