You can draft well and still miss the point. The Chiefs did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to tight end, which was the need that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

The cost of the Campbell reach is exactly the players who went right after him. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick9 Rnd1 Nate Frazier

In the 9th pick they get a centerpiece for the ground game. A clean fit for the roster.

Pick40 Rnd2 Charlie Becker

They paid a round early for Charlie Becker in slot 40, more than the board wanted. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
