Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Bengals: B-.

The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named linebacker, a need the Bengals walked right past. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They are betting Bowen proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In Round 1, Pick 10 they get a blindside protector at fair value.
Pick41 Rnd2 Dani Dennis-Sutton
No drama and no debate, Dani Dennis-Sutton went about where he belonged in the 41st pick. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick72 Rnd3 Lee Hunter
Lee Hunter at pick 72 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick110 Rnd4 Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch at slot 110 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick187 Rnd6 Thaddeus Dixon
Thaddeus Dixon at the 187th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick197 Rnd6 Peyton Bowen
Peyton Bowen in pick No. 197 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick226 Rnd7 Shamar Easter
A straight-up fair deal on Shamar Easter at No. 226, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
