Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B

Grand theft in Round 5, Pick 8: the Chiefs steal Branch and grade out a B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Chiefs were there to profit. Zachariah Branch, the No. 65 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 148.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. If Elarms-Orr pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick29
Rnd1
Omar Cooper Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick40
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon at pick No. 40 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick74
Rnd3
Davison Igbinosun
They took Davison Igbinosun at par in the 74th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick109
Rnd4
Derrick Moore
Circle this one: Derrick Moore at No. 109 is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick148
Rnd5
Zachariah Branch
They barely believed it either: Zachariah Branch still on the board at pick 148. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick169
Rnd5
Kaleb Elarms-Orr
A premium they did not need to pay, Kaleb Elarms-Orr a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick176
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell in slot 176 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick210
Rnd6
Bobby Jamison-Travis
The board had cheaper options than Bobby Jamison-Travis at Round 6, Pick 29, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
