Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Rams a B-.

The Rams clearly saw something nobody else did in Cody Simon, taking him 31 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Briningstool that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
In pick No. 26 they get a disruptor off the edge, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick90 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo is a better player than Round 3, Pick 26 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick101 Rnd3 Cody Simon
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cody Simon well ahead of where he belonged. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick127 Rnd4 Sai'vion Jones
They talked themselves into Sai'vion Jones at the 127th pick, and the board did not agree. It fills a real need, too.
Pick190 Rnd6 Jake Briningstool
Value with a capital V on Jake Briningstool in the 190th overall pick, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick195 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A slide stopped in slot 195, with Dont'e Thornton Jr. worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick201 Rnd6 Jarquez Hunter
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jarquez Hunter at pick 201 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick202 Rnd6 Jason Marshall Jr.
Jason Marshall Jr. at Round 6, Pick 26 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
