Nobody had Kalil Alexander this high, and it is not close. The Saints reached 65 spots to get him at pick No. 198.

The whole projection now runs through Fernando Mendoza; hit there and everything else looks smarter. That Chambliss pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
