FutureA
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Panthers a B. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Dante Moore at the 38th overall pick, a reach of 170 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In slot 6 they get a premier pass rusher. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick38
Rnd2
Dante Moore
Dante Moore in pick 38 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick70
Rnd3
Kaytron Allen
They reached into another round for Kaytron Allen, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick75
Rnd3
Germie Bernard
Germie Bernard at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick111
Rnd4
Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart at the 111th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick145
Rnd5
Earnest Greene III
No edge and no loss on Earnest Greene III in No. 145; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick150
Rnd5
Tree Babalade
A premium they did not need to pay, Tree Babalade a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick180
Rnd6
Trey Moore
Trey Moore at slot 180 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick189
Rnd6
Kayin Lee
A reach for Kayin Lee in the 189th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219
Rnd7
Boubacar Traore
Boubacar Traore at the Round 7 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
