Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Eagles, and a B- to prove it.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Eagles would have aced it. Keaten Wade at the Round 6 slot is 150 spots clear of where he belonged.

The Ponds pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
In pick 28 they get a red-zone target to build around at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Suntarine Perkins
Suntarine Perkins in slot 59 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick65 Rnd3 A'Mauri Washington
They jumped the gun on A'Mauri Washington, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick90 Rnd3 Keith Abney II
By-the-book stuff, Keith Abney II at the 90th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick98 Rnd3 Charles Jagusah
This one needs a full-page explanation: Charles Jagusah in No. 98, miles early. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick125 Rnd4 J.C. Davis
A reach for J.C. Davis in Round 4, Pick 25; a little patience would have been rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick135 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds in pick 135 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick157 Rnd5 Aaron Anderson
The board had Aaron Anderson higher than the Round 5 slot, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick168 Rnd5 Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa in the 168th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick207 Rnd6 Keaten Wade
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Keaten Wade well ahead of where he belonged. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick213 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at the 213th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
