Kiyoshi Sabers DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles

FutureB+
More right than wrong for the Eagles, and a B to prove it. The Patrick Payton pick is the one that will follow the Eagles into the fall. They took him 47 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
The Delane value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get an island corner, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick72
Rnd3
Max Klare
No edge and no loss on Max Klare in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick98
Rnd3
Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
Kenyatta Jackson Jr. in pick 98 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick109
Rnd4
Charles Jagusah
A reach for Charles Jagusah in the 109th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick131
Rnd4
DeMonte Capehart
Value said wait; DeMonte Capehart in No. 131 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick138
Rnd4
Bray Hubbard
A tidy little value on Bray Hubbard in the 138th overall pick, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick154
Rnd5
Aaron Anderson
A reach on Aaron Anderson in pick 154; the board had better options right there. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick163
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
A conviction pick on Aamil Wagner at slot 163 that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
Pick179
Rnd5
Patrick Payton
Patrick Payton at the 179th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick210
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at Round 6, Pick 31 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick219
Rnd7
Roderick Kearney
Roderick Kearney in pick No. 219 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
