Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall D
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesF FutureC-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Buccaneers to a D.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Buccaneers reached some 109 spots for Trey Moore, and value like that does not grow back. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Parker pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 15th pick they get the heartbeat of the defense. More want than need.
Pick21 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
No edge and no loss on Kenyon Sadiq in No. 21; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick39 Rnd2 T.J. Parker
T.J. Parker in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick71 Rnd3 Boubacar Traore
This one needs a full-page explanation: Boubacar Traore in pick 71, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick110 Rnd4 Trey Moore
Trey Moore at Round 4, Pick 10 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick153 Rnd5 Jacob Rodriguez
A conviction pick on Jacob Rodriguez at the 153rd overall pick that the board grades a round light. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick200 Rnd6 Patrick Payton
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Patrick Payton. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick229 Rnd7 Cam Calhoun
They did well to land Cam Calhoun in pick No. 229, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick236 Rnd7 Da'Shawn Womack
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Da'Shawn Womack well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
