Draft Grade — Rams
Overall

ValueC

TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Rams a B-. There is reaching, and then there is Gabe Jacas at No. 165. The Rams jumped the board by 41 and dared it to prove them wrong. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
That Simpson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Ethan Onianwa
In slot 26 they get a building block for the line, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick58
Rnd2
Raylen Wilson
Raylen Wilson in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick90
Rnd3
Dani Dennis-Sutton
Value said wait; Dani Dennis-Sutton in the 90th overall pick says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick126
Rnd4
Robert Spears-Jennings
They read the board right and Robert Spears-Jennings was the payoff at No. 126. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick142
Rnd5
Ethan O'Connor
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ethan O'Connor. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick165
Rnd5
Gabe Jacas
They talked themselves into Gabe Jacas at the 165th pick, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick198
Rnd6
Shamar Porter
No drama and no debate, Shamar Porter went about where he belonged in Round 6, Pick 22. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick213
Rnd6
Ty Simpson
Ty Simpson in slot 213 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
