Draft Grade — Rams

The Rams let Green fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Taylen Green tumbling to the Rams in Round 6, Pick 31 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will need Wagner to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Jermod McCoy
In the Round 1 slot they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value.
Pick31 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
In No. 31 they get a seam-stretching tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick63 Rnd2 LaNorris Sellers
By-the-book stuff, LaNorris Sellers at the 63rd pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick95 Rnd3 Keon Sabb
A tidy bit of business in slot 95, where Keon Sabb graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick171 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner at the 171st overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick196 Rnd6 Jaydn Ott
Jaydn Ott slid further than he should have, and pick No. 196 is lovely value for the running back. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick211 Rnd6 Taylen Green
They barely believed it either: Taylen Green still on the board at pick 211. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick234 Rnd7 DeAndre Moore Jr.
DeAndre Moore Jr. is a better player than Round 7, Pick 19 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick248 Rnd7 Noah Fifita
Taking Noah Fifita in the 248th pick is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
