Jaydin2010 DRAFTING FOR THEColts

Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Colts. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jaydn Ott, the No. 81 name on the board, stolen at Round 4, Pick 6. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
If Luckie pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In No. 8 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick40
Rnd2
King Mack
King Mack at slot 40 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick72
Rnd3
Deontae Lawson
By-the-book stuff, Deontae Lawson at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick108
Rnd4
Jaydn Ott
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Jaydn Ott in slot 108, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick147
Rnd5
Lawson Luckie
Value said wait; Lawson Luckie in the 147th overall pick says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick186
Rnd6
Jaylon Braxton
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jaylon Braxton in the 186th pick, miles early. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick221
Rnd7
Jalil Farooq
Jalil Farooq at No. 221 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick247
Rnd7
Sage Ryan
No edge and no loss on Sage Ryan in pick 247; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick249
Rnd7
Lee Hunter
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Lee Hunter. A need, and now a little less of one.
