Draft Grade — Seahawks

The Seahawks land in the muddy middle: C+. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Seahawks took Anthony Lucas at the 49th overall pick, roughly 45 spots before his name belonged.
For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Landing Wheatley that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick Analysis
Pick49
Rnd2
Anthony Lucas
This one needs a full-page explanation: Anthony Lucas in slot 49, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick64
Rnd2
Jonah Coleman
By-the-book stuff, Jonah Coleman at No. 64 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick96
Rnd3
Daylen Everette
No drama and no debate, Daylen Everette went about where he belonged in the 96th pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick97
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
They read the board right and Zakee Wheatley was the payoff at pick No. 97. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick211
Rnd6
Barion Brown
A straight-up fair deal on Barion Brown at Round 6, Pick 32, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
