The curious call sets the tone. With quarterback, tight end and other spots still glaring, the Colts used the 132nd pick on Chris Johnson, a cornerback they were not exactly short of. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Johnson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
