Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall

ValueB

TradesF
FutureA+
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Dolphins to a C+. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Dolphins shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. It nets out a thoroughly average C+.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On value alone, Stowers makes the weekend a net positive.
Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
If Brandon Cisse and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick43
Rnd2
Brandon Cisse
Brandon Cisse at the 43rd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick75
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at the 75th overall pick is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick87
Rnd3
Carson Beck
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 23, with Carson Beck worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick90
Rnd3
Harold Perkins Jr.
No drama and no debate, Harold Perkins Jr. went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick120
Rnd4
Keylan Rutledge
By-the-book stuff, Keylan Rutledge at No. 120 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick149
Rnd5
Jaden Greathouse
Nice patience on Jaden Greathouse, who had no business lasting to pick No. 149. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick158
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
A tidy bit of business in slot 158, where Davison Igbinosun graded well above the range. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick227
Rnd7
PJ Williams
They paid sticker price for PJ Williams in pick 227, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
