Draft Grade — Browns

FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Browns this weekend: B. The Browns ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Fields at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Reaching for Curry left real value on the table behind him. The Nahshon Wright pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In the 6th overall pick they get a downhill hitter at safety at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick25
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Brandon Cisse
Brandon Cisse at pick No. 39 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick70
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Connor Lew at pick 70 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick89
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
The board had Malachi Fields higher than No. 89, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick107
Rnd4
Caden Curry
Caden Curry in slot 107 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick139
Rnd5
Dametrious Crownover
A clean, defensible pick in the 139th pick with a little surplus value in Dametrious Crownover. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick144
Rnd5
Skyler Gill-Howard
Good price on Skyler Gill-Howard in the Round 5 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick147
Rnd5
Kyle Louis
No drama and no debate, Kyle Louis went about where he belonged in the 147th overall pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick204
Rnd6
Le'Veon Moss
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Le'Veon Moss. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick248
Rnd7
Fa'alili Fa'amoe
They took Fa'alili Fa'amoe at par in the 248th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
