If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Bengals, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. Just about everything broke right, and the A follows.

That is a tight end worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.

The Bengals paired the rookies with proven help, DaRon Bland leading the way. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.
