Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Cardinals and Beck: B.

Somebody in the 148th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cardinals sat still while Carson Beck, the No. 111 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Keldric Faulk
Keldric Faulk in Round 1, Pick 8 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick39 Rnd2 Caleb Lomu
They paid sticker price for Caleb Lomu in pick No. 39, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick70 Rnd3 Connor Lew
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 70th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105 Rnd4 Earl Little Jr.
Earl Little Jr. in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick148 Rnd5 Carson Beck
They will replay Carson Beck at the 148th pick for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick186 Rnd6 CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels in slot 186 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick221 Rnd7 Drayk Bowen
Drayk Bowen at No. 221 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
