Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Eagles: B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Eagles reached some 43 spots for Gabe Jacas, and value like that does not grow back. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Cooper Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 R Mason Thomas
In slot 23 they get a premier pass rusher, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick54 Rnd2 Gabe Jacas
They talked themselves into Gabe Jacas at the 54th overall pick, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick68 Rnd3 Derrick Moore
They reached a country mile for Derrick Moore at Round 3, Pick 4, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick98 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
They barely believed it either: Omar Cooper Jr. still on the board at No. 98. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick122 Rnd4 Will Lee III
Will Lee III is a better player than the Round 4 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jakobe Thomas
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jakobe Thomas in pick 137. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick151 Rnd5 J'Mari Taylor
No drama and no debate, J'Mari Taylor went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick179 Rnd5 Dae'Quan Wright
A clean, defensible pick in slot 179 with a little surplus value in Dae'Quan Wright. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick201 Rnd6 Charles Jagusah
Nothing to complain about; Charles Jagusah went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
