The phones were a trap the Dolphins kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

Fernando Mendoza is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.

On value alone, Simpson makes the weekend a net positive. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
