The phones were a trap the Raiders kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

Fernando Mendoza is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Thieneman pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Trent Williams gives the group a proven body among the projects.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
