The Lions worked the phones like thieves and earned a B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Lions reached some 66 spots for Eric Gentry, and value like that does not grow back. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Adding Maxwell Hairston by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
