Draft Grade — Colts
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureC+
The Colts let Mukuba fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Andrew Mukuba got past him. The Colts do not have to explain a thing at the 117th pick. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Monheim pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The Colts clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Colston Loveland
In the Round 1 slot they get a mismatch in the passing game at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
Nice patience on Jihaad Campbell, who had no business lasting to No. 45. The roster fit checks out.
Pick80 Rnd3 Darien Porter
Nothing to complain about; Darien Porter went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick117 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
They robbed the room for Andrew Mukuba here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick122 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
They jumped the gun on Hollin Pierce, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick151 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim in Round 5, Pick 13 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick189 Rnd6 Tahj Brooks
Tahj Brooks at pick 189 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick232 Rnd7 Theo Wease Jr.
A reach on Theo Wease Jr. in pick No. 232; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
