ValueB

FutureB-
The Colts fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B. The trade table was a mismatch, and the Colts were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The Lachey pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The Starks pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
By-the-book stuff, Jalon Walker at the 22nd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick45
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
They will replay Malaki Starks at No. 45 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick55
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. in slot 55 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick80
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson in the 80th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick86
Rnd3
Darius Alexander
They paid sticker price for Darius Alexander in pick 86, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick117
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 15 with a little surplus value in Anthony Belton. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick151
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick189
Rnd6
Luke Lachey
They talked themselves into Luke Lachey at pick No. 189, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick232
Rnd7
Bilhal Kone
A straight-up fair deal on Bilhal Kone at Round 7, Pick 16, value and slot in agreement. A minor need, but a need all the same.
