Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Saints.

There is a lot to like until you notice running back is still a hole. The Saints never got to the one that mattered most. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They will need Klubnik to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The Daniels value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 David Bailey
In Round 1, Pick 8 they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick42 Rnd2 LT Overton
No drama and no debate, LT Overton went about where he belonged in the 42nd pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick73 Rnd3 Cade Klubnik
They paid a round early for Cade Klubnik in pick 73, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick132 Rnd4 Skyler Gill-Howard
They took Skyler Gill-Howard at par in No. 132, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick136 Rnd4 CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels at slot 136 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick148 Rnd5 Connor Tollison
Connor Tollison at the 148th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick170 Rnd5 Gracen Halton
Gracen Halton in pick No. 170 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick188 Rnd6 Antonio Kite
No edge and no loss on Antonio Kite in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
