Chase's 2026 NFL MOCK DRAFT R1-R2
Draft Grade — Jets
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Jets a B. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Jets did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to cornerback, which was the need that mattered most. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The Lawson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Rueben Bain Jr.
In No. 2 they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick16
Rnd1
Makai Lemon
In slot 16 they get a true top target at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Ty Simpson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ty Simpson at the 33rd pick is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick44
Rnd2
Deontae Lawson
They paid a round early for Deontae Lawson in the 44th overall pick, more than the board wanted. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
