Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Chargers for Slaughter: B.

The Chargers' one glaring miss is wide receiver, a need they left exactly as they found it.

However the rest shakes out, Slaughter at that price is a win they earned. The cost of the Hunter reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Caleb Banks
In the 22nd pick they get a disruptor off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick58 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter in pick 58 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick86 Rnd3 Jake Golday
Jake Golday in the 86th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick124 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
They took Chase Bisontis at par in No. 124, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick129 Rnd4 Domani Jackson
They let Domani Jackson come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 29. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick165 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Good price on Kage Casey in the Round 5 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick204 Rnd6 Lee Hunter
They paid a round early for Lee Hunter in pick 204, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick220 Rnd7 Josh Moten
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Josh Moten at No. 220 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick241 Rnd7 Malik Hartford
Nothing to complain about; Malik Hartford went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
