Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall D+
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The phones sank the Cardinals this weekend: D+.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Cardinals shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Put together, it is a D+.

Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Kearney pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Puka Nacua gives the group a proven body among the projects.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 T.J. Parker
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick40 Rnd2 Sonny Styles
No drama and no debate, Sonny Styles went about where he belonged in the 40th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick71 Rnd3 LaNorris Sellers
Nice patience on LaNorris Sellers, who had no business lasting to pick 71. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick106 Rnd4 C.J. Fite
They took C.J. Fite at par in slot 106, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick153 Rnd5 Bray Hubbard
Bray Hubbard slipping to No. 153 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick188 Rnd6 Jermaine Mathews Jr.
Jermaine Mathews Jr. in the Round 6 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick217 Rnd7 Roderick Kearney
This one needs a full-page explanation: Roderick Kearney in the 217th pick, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick222 Rnd7 Jahiem White
Jahiem White at pick No. 222 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
