Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
D-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesF
FutureC
The Cardinals bled value on every deal, hence the D-. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Cardinals shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Tyson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Haulcy falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Jordyn Tyson
In No. 3 they get a true top target, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick21
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Olaivavega Ioane. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick34
Rnd2
Christen Miller
No edge and no loss on Christen Miller in pick No. 34; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick65
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy at slot 65 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick104
Rnd4
Chandler Rivers
A tidy bit of business in the 104th pick, where Chandler Rivers graded well above the range. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
