Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
A-
ValueB-

FutureA
The Titans worked the phones like thieves and earned a A-. The rest of the league had time to spare on Eric O'Neill; the Titans did not wait, grabbing him 97 spots ahead at the 101st pick. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Slaughter. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
Add it up and this is about as clean as a draft weekend gets.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In pick No. 5 they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick28
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get a three-down second-level presence at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick33
Rnd2
Quincy Rhodes Jr.
They jumped the gun on Quincy Rhodes Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick44
Rnd2
Colton Hood
A wild overpay on Colton Hood in slot 44, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick65
Rnd3
Jake Slaughter
Somehow Jake Slaughter was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 1, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick101
Rnd4
Eric O'Neill
They left a pile of value on the table to take Eric O'Neill this early at the 101st overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick141
Rnd5
Kevin Coleman Jr.
Kevin Coleman Jr. at the 141st pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick144
Rnd5
CJ Baxter
By-the-book stuff, CJ Baxter at slot 144 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick179
Rnd6
Raylen Wilson
A real head-scratcher, Raylen Wilson in No. 179 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick236
Rnd7
Elliot Washington II
Elliot Washington II at pick No. 236 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
