Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Buccaneers fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Buccaneers spent the 248th overall pick on Eric Gentry, a name the board had a full 92 spots lower. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

Thieneman at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The phones were where this weekend was really won. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
In the Round 1 slot they get a red-zone target to build around, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63 Rnd2 Sonny Styles
A quiet steal in pick No. 63: Sonny Styles for less than the market said. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick95 Rnd3 Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman at slot 95 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick131 Rnd4 Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch at the 131st pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick211 Rnd6 Miller Moss
A tidy little value on Miller Moss in pick 211, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick248 Rnd7 Eric Gentry
They reached into another round for Eric Gentry, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick254 Rnd7 Tony Grimes
They reached a country mile for Tony Grimes at the 254th pick, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
