Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jake Slaughter got past him. The Buccaneers do not have to explain a thing at the 77th overall pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
