There is conviction, and then there is this. The Jaguars took Stephen Dix Jr. a full 133 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Branch. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The Jaguars paired the rookies with proven help, Dawson Knox leading the way.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
