A solid, sensible weekend for the Browns: B-. The Browns put a flag in the ground for Jaydn Ott, 33 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
The Moore value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The Styles pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, edge rusher and other spots still on the board.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In slot 6 they get the heartbeat of the defense at fair value.
Pick24
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, edge rusher and other spots to take Sonny Styles, a linebacker that was not the priority.
Pick47
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
The board had Emmanuel Pregnon higher than No. 47, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70
Rnd3
Blake Miller
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Blake Miller in the 70th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick107
Rnd4
Deion Burks
A clean, defensible pick in the 107th pick with a little surplus value in Deion Burks. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick113
Rnd4
Devin Moore
Devin Moore in pick No. 113 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick146
Rnd5
Kaleb Proctor
Kaleb Proctor at the Round 5 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick149
Rnd5
Jaydn Ott
Jaydn Ott at the 149th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick206
Rnd6
Jaren Kanak
They reached into another round for Jaren Kanak, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The roster fit checks out.
Pick248
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at pick No. 248 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
