Draft Grade — Browns
Overall

FutureA+
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Browns: B+. The Browns torched the value chart for Amare Campbell, taking him 37 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
Slaughter at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Gennings Dunker
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Pick28
Rnd1
Chris Brazzell II
In pick No. 28 they get a true top target at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane in No. 39 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick70
Rnd3
Jake Slaughter
Circle this one: Jake Slaughter at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick88
Rnd3
Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. at slot 88 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick118
Rnd4
Domani Jackson
A straight-up fair deal on Domani Jackson at the 118th pick, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick139
Rnd5
Tao Johnson
Tao Johnson at No. 139 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick144
Rnd5
Michael Trigg
Michael Trigg at the 144th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick147
Rnd5
Demond Claiborne
They did well to land Demond Claiborne in pick No. 147, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick206
Rnd6
Amare Campbell
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Amare Campbell. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick248
Rnd7
Kelby Collins
Kelby Collins in pick 248 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
