browns198 DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns
Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Browns kept it disciplined and banked a B. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Browns did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
However the rest shakes out, Lew at that price is a win they earned. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In pick 6 they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick28
Rnd1
Cashius Howell
In slot 28 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Joshua Josephs
Joshua Josephs in the 39th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick70
Rnd3
Connor Lew
A quiet steal in Round 3, Pick 6: Connor Lew for less than the market said. A need, and now a little less of one.
